BHU Admission offers many UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses such as BA, BCom, BSc, BPA, BTech, MA, MBA, MPhil, MTech, LLM, diploma, certificate, and doctoral programs, etc. Admission is based on merit, based on the entrance exam results.

BHU Admission 2024-25

This University offers both UG and PG courses. Some of the UG and PG courses offered by the University are BA, BCom, BSc, MPhil, MTech, and LLM. The University also offers certificates, diplomas, and doctorates. The National Testing Agency will conduct Banaras Hindu University Entrance Exams in CBT format for UG and PG programs in 2024-25. The application deadline is in March. Visit the University’s official website to fill out the online application. BHU Admission is based on both the merit list and the entrance exam.

BHU UG Admission 2024-25

Admission to UG courses at the BHU is available to students. It provides UG courses such as BA, BSc, BCom, etc. Applicants must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination with 50%. Only online applications for CUET are accepted at BHU. Admission to different courses is done through entrance exams, and eligibility varies from course to course. For all categories, applicants must score a minimum of 25% to 35% in the entrance exam. Applicants who score less than the above-mentioned marks will not be accepted. To apply online, visit the university’s official website. 

BHU PG Admission 2024-25

PG courses are available at Banaras Hindu University. It offers PG courses, such as MA, MCA, MCOM, M.Phil, M.Tech, and LLM. The university conducts the entrance for admission to PG courses. BHU MBA Admission for the session 2024-25 has been released. MTech, MPharm, MA, MBA, and MIBA, etc., can be applied online or offline. An average of 50% to 55% is required in the 10+2+3 or equivalent examination. Students are admitted based on their entrance exam scores. An online application is available on the university’s website.

BHU MBA Admission 2024-26

Online application submission will be live from 05 October 2023 to 03 January 2024, Students fill out the BHU MBA Application form before the last date. BHU MBA Admission is an online process, Candidates are required valid email ID and mobile no. for registration for CAT 2023 registration purposes. The Application fee is Rs. 2000/- (Rs. 1000/- for SC/ST) to be payable online as per guidelines provided on the Admission Portal.

1. Master of Business Administration: 59 seats with specialization* in Marketing/Human Resource Management / Finance/Operations Management/ Information Technology (as specified in the prevailing ordinance governing the conduct of the Program)
2.  Master of Business Administration International Business (MBA – IB): 59 seats With specialization* in Marketing/ Human Resource Management / Finance / Operations Management/ Information Technology / Global Business Operations (as specified in the prevailing ordinance governing the conduct of the Program) (* Minimum required strength in each elective group is 5 students.)

Eligibility for BHU MBA and MBA-IB Program: Admission to the MBA & MBA-IB Programs shall be made through CAT. Eligibility criteria defined under CAT shall be deemed as applicable provided candidates belonging to categories other than SC / ST have secured a minimum of 50% marks at the qualifying examination. For SC/ST candidates, at least 45% marks are required.

1. A graduate degree under 10+2+3 Pattern. OR
2. A degree in Agriculture, Technology, Medicine, Education, or Law. OR
3. A Post-graduate degree in any discipline. OR

BHU MBA Admission Procedure 

1. Admission to the MBA and MBA IB Programs of the Institute will be made based on the combined merit of the candidates in CAT conducted by IIM (50%), Academic Records (20%), and Group Discussion and personal Interviews (30%).
2. Candidates interested in taking admission to the MBA and MBA IB Courses at the Institute of Management Studies, BHU are required to appear in the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institute of Management for the corresponding year. 50% weightage will be given to the CAT Score while calculating the merit for admission to the above Programs. Registration for CAT 2023 is open from August 4, 2022, to September 15, 2022. For details, please refer CAT 2023 Website. Candidates are also required to apply separately for admission to MBA / MBA IB programs of the Institute of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University through the University Admission Portal (www.bhuonline.in) on or before the specified last date for the purpose

3. Candidates short-listed based on CAT 2023 score will be called for Group Discussion and Interviews which will be conducted in the Institute as per schedule decided by the Admission Committee of the Institute.  Weightage for Group Discussion and Interview Score will be 30% (15% each).

4. Candidates will be called for counseling for provisional admission in order of their combined merit in CAT 2023, Academic Record and Group Discussion & interview.

BHU PhD Admission 2024-25

BHU PhD course lasts three years and students can apply online or offline. 27 December 2023 is the last date of BHU PhD Admission 2024-25. The program admits students regularly as well as part-time. There are Ph.D. programs in Arts, Commerce, Education, Social Sciences, Medicine, Ayurveda, Sanskrit, Science, Dental Science, and Law. A PG degree with a minimum of 55% marks in Social Sciences or Humanities. The following applicants can be admitted directly to the PhD program without appearing in the RET. An entrance test and an interview will determine admission. 

BHU Diploma Admission 2024-25

The Diploma courses and Certificates Courses offered by the Faculty of Arts are open only to Regular students of the BHU currently enrolled in any ongoing full-time course of Banaras Hindu University within the Main Campus of BHU. The eligibility must be 10+2 (Intermediate) or higher.

1 Year Part-time Certificate Courses

1. The Part-Time Certificate Courses offered by the BHU, Candidates who are pursuing Ph.D programs at BHU Main Campus are eligible for admission within two years from the date of their registration in the Ph.D. program.
2. The Qualifying examination for the above courses will be 10+2 (Intermediate) or higher as the case may be.
3. Admission in Two Certificate/Diploma courses at a time is NOT allowed in any case

• For a Diploma in English, the applicant should possess either a Certificate in English or English as a subject at the Intermediate level.

BHU Entrance Exam 2024-25

The selection criteria at BHU Admission are based on various Entrance Tests. Students who meet the eligibility requirements will be required to take the university’s UG Entrance Test (UET). BHU will conduct the PG Entrance Test in April/May 2024 to select the most suitable candidates. The BHU PG Entrance Test Result will be announced to the appeared students almost three weeks after the examination date. Applicants will also receive their admit cards in the mail a week before the entrance examination. The Institute conducts three admissions exams: BHU-CUET, BHU-PET & RET. Admission to PhD and (Integrated) MPhil programs require completion of the Research Entrance Test (RET).

BHU SET 2024 application process will be announced on the website. Applicants need to submit an application fee of Rs 500/- online. For students belonging to SC, ST, Women, Minorities, and Economically Backward Classes, the application fee is Rs.250/-. The payment can be made using a credit card, debit card, net banking, or by creating a transfer to the HDFC Bank account. Participants in the Banaras Hindu University PET test must complete the online application form by the deadline. BHU Counselling Online Mode

1. Read all guidelines, procedures, and documents required for counseling very carefully, as mentioned in the Call Letter.
2. Download the Call Letter for counseling from the student counseling portal of bhuonline.in using the NTA application No and password (ddmmyyyy) sent by NTA. You are advised to check bhuonline.in the counseling portal every day. THE PORTAL WILL OPEN ONLY TILL THE COUNSELLING DATE
3. Click the “ Preference Entry” tab to opt for ONLINE MODE (Hybrid Mode is only for UG courses). Be sure that there is NO need to attend Physical Offline Counselling on the day of your call. The online preference entry and the uploading process will close one day before the counseling date mentioned in the Call Letter. If failed to upload, request the Admission committee to attend Offline counselling. (PG only Online Mode): Upload & Pref Entry is Mandatory.
4. The following Documents are mandatory for ONLINE Counselling.
   1. High School (10th) Marksheet/Pass Cert (for proof of Date of Birth).
   2. Intermediate (12th Marksheet): Must for UG course.
   3. For PG courses (All sem/year) Marksheet (for LLM & M.Ed. upload Grad + LLB/ B.Ed.).
   4. Caste Certificate & Income Certificate.
   5. PWD (Person with Disabilities) Medical Certificate by CMO.
   6. For BHU/College Student claim: Last Marksheet.
   7. BHU/College Employee Cert: for EMP ward.
   8. Declaration for online counselling.
5. The Other optional documents, if available, may be uploaded; if not, then upload the declaration.
   1. Transfer Certificate (TC)/ Migration Certificate (If applicable)
   2. Character Certificate.
   3. Anti-Ragging Declaration Certificate.
   4. Residence-cum Dossier Form.
6. Candidates are advised to scan/take a pic of the documents (format: .jpg up to 2 MB) in good light condition and sharp so that all details are visible to the Admission Committee. If you have more than one page of the document for the Graduation marksheet section, take a of multiple pages, convert it to one PDF, and upload it.
7. Once all the Mandatory documents are uploaded, the PROCEED button (at the bottom of the page) will be activated. Click the Proceed button to Go to the next stage for Preference Entry.
8. After the Upload is completed, Complete the Preference Entry, which is MUST to complete the Online Counselling process. THE PORTAL WILL OPEN ONLY TILL THE COUNSELLING DATE
9. Give Preference Order for courses/subject combination and campuses/colleges.
   1. For UG, where many subject combinations are available, fill all preferences in your interest order with FMC, DAV, AMPG, VKM, VCW, and RGSC campuses/college preferences.
   2. In PG courses, there will be a preference for course and campus/college. Fill in your choice. Save & Confirm.
10. You may only be allowed to edit options until the admission committee confirms verification. You can check the verification status at the Preference entry page of your student login after completing admission committee verification.
11. . A confirmation page will appear with all the details of the Candidate and a list of documents you submitted. Print or Save this page of confirmation as proof of submission.
12. You are advised to check the status of course/subject allotment at your student counseling portal every day from the date of
13. Counseling mentioned in your call Letter. The course or subjects will be visible on the allotment page if you are allotted. Proceed for Online Fee submission (see details in Call letter). Only 24 hours till 5 pm will be given for Fee submission. No request for an extension of fee submission will be entertained. (See Fee rules in details)
14. . SEND AN EMAIL TO LOCK THE SUB/COURSE IF YOU ARE SATISFIED. FOR UPGRADATION, wait for the following/subsequent rounds (see upgrade rules). After locking in the course/subject, the Final Admission Admit Card will be visible on your portal. Report to the Department/College on the date and time with all originals mentioned in the admit card.

bhuonline.in Counselling Offline Mode

1. Read all guidelines, procedures, and documents required for counselling very carefully, as mentioned in Call Letter.
2. Download the Call Letter for counseling from the student counseling portal of bhuonline.in using the NTA application No and password (dd-mm-yyyy) sent by NTA. You are advised to check bhuonline.in the counseling portal every day.
3. If you are opting for OFFLINE MODE and attending physical counseling, then there is NO NEED TO UPLOADING DOCUMENTS, but you may fill in the Preference Entry. Once you opt for Online and upload the documents, you will not be entertained with the same procedure on the day of Offline counselling.
4. The same documents (self-attested one set photocopy) are also required during the Offline Physical mode of counselling except annexure 10.
5. The same documents are also required during the Offline Physical mode of counselling. If not available, a declaration for submission within the stipulated time is needed.
6. Self-attested one set photocopy with Original documents required for Offline mode on the day of counselling. Originals will be returned after verification. Check the details of requirements in the Call Letter.
7. On the specific Date & Time of Offline counselling, follow the procedure and instructions given at the Venue for preference entry and verification.
