CLAT Admission 2024

The CLAT 2024 Examinations registration started on 01 July 2023. Students can fill out the registration form, which is set for the examinations, and also, students need to pay 4000/- rupees (3500/- for reserved category) as a registration amount for enrolling. The examination will be conducted on 03 November 2023. Students can pay through Net Banking; the Credit or Debit card payment option is also available.

The registrations are done online, but the examinations are carried out offline each year for the intake of law studies programs. CLAT 2024 Last Date to Apply

The last date to fill out the application form for appearing in the CLAT 2024 exam is 03 November 2023. All students looking to appear in the CLAT 2024 exam must prepare well and complete the registration process by visiting the official CLAT website.

CLAT 2024 UG Eligibility Criteria

  1. There is no upper age limit for candidates appearing for the UG Program through the CLAT 2024.
  2. Candidates must secure the following minimum percentage of marks in their qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2 or an equivalent examination):
    1. Forty-five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories
    2. Forty Percent (40%) marks or equivalent in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
  3. Candidates who may be appearing for their qualifying examination in March/ April 2024 are also eligible to appear for the CLAT 2024 examination. However, they shall be required to prove they passed the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission.
  4. The result of the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2) shall be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission, failing which the candidate shall be ineligible for admission to the course they may have applied for.
  5. If more than one candidate secures an equal number of marks in the CLAT 2024, the break of the tie shall be by the following procedure and order:
    1. Higher marks in the component/section on Legal Aptitude in the CLAT 2024 exam;
    2. Higher age;
    3. Computerized draw of lots.

CLAT 2024 PG Eligibility Criteria

  1. An Ll.B. Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of Fifty cents (50%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories and Forty-Five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
  2. Candidates appearing for their qualifying examination in April/May 2024 can also apply.
  3. There is no upper age limit for appearing for the CLAT 2024.
  4. Tie Breaker Rule: In case of equal marks, the break of tie shall be by the following procedure and order:
    1. Higher age;
    2. Computerized drawing of lots.

CLAT 2024 Application Form

  1. CLAT 2024 application forms are available on consortiumofnlus.ac.in. 
  2. Students need to click on the Register link and start the registration process. 
  3. Here, students must fill in accurate details like contact email for registration. 
  4. After this, students will receive the Login and Password ID, which they need to save and start their entrance admission procedure. 
  5. The details should be mentioned without any errors. 
  6. The document submission should also be according to the size that is mentioned. 
  7. After completing all the steps, students must re-check the details and go through the document correctly. 
  8. The last and final step is a payment, which a student can do through Online, Net banking, Credit, or UPI.

CLAT Registration 2024

The CLAT 2024 registration process started on 01 July 2023 and will close on 03 November 2023. Candidates can register for CLAT 2024 online by visiting the official website of the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) – consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

To register for CLAT 2024, candidates must create an account on the official website and fill out the online application form. The application form will require candidates to provide personal information, academic qualifications, and contact details. Candidates must also upload scanned copies of their passport-size photograph and signature.

The application fee for CLAT 2024 is INR 2,400 for general and EWS/NC-OBC candidates and INR 1,200 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. The application fee can be paid online using a debit card, credit card, or net banking.

The CLAT 2024 exam will be held on 03 December 2023. The exam will be held offline and will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions. The questions will be divided into five sections: English Language, Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, and Legal Reasoning.

Candidates who qualify for the CLAT 2024 exam will be eligible to participate in the centralized counseling process for admission to undergraduate law programs offered by various participating NLUs.

CLAT Syllabus 2024

The CLAT UG & PG program syllabus is related to the program level. For the UG programs, the syllabus is related to the English Language, Knowledge of Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical reasoning, and quantitative techniques questions needed to prepare the students. 

For the PG programs, students are required to study law subjects related to their previous academic studies. The LLB pursued students should know the essential elements of the programs for the Entrance Examinations.

CLAT 2024 Admit Card

CLAT 2024 Exam Pattern

  1. Students for the Entrance must go through the exam pattern, which is necessary to understand. 
  2. Students must know that only the registration process is online, but the examinations are offline. 
  3. These offline examinations are carried through the allotted center for which students register. 
  4. This examination lasts 2 hours, with 150 marks for the UG CLAT and 120 for the PG CLAT. 
  5. Multiple-choice questions are asked, and the comprehensive passages questions are also asked for the entrance. 
  6. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. 
  7. The examination is in English, and no other language is available for the students.

Will CLAT 2024 be held twice?

No, CLAT 2024 will not be held twice. The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs), which conducts CLAT, has confirmed that the exam will be held only once a year, on 03 December 2023.

CLAT was held twice in 2022, once on 19 June and again on 18 December 2022. This was done to facilitate the change of the exam cycle and timely admissions. However, from 2024 onwards, CLAT will be held only once a year, as per the previous schedule.

Can I take the CLAT Exam after the 12th?

Yes, you can take the CLAT exam after the 12th. The eligibility criteria for the CLAT exam state that the candidate must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board or institution. There is no upper age limit for appearing in the CLAT exam.
