Join the Indian Navy After Completing 12th Class

After completing their intermediate studies, students can opt for the courses according to the post they want to choose. There are different positions, and the study and eligibility are according to the post a student is applying for.

Officer: If a student wants to become an officer, they can choose the technical or nontechnical branch; both branches have different eligibility criteria. There are five branches – Engineering, Executive, Electrical, and Education & Medical. From here, students can choose and have a career choice.

Technical Branch students should complete their 10+2, and PCM should be compulsory. Also, applicants should obtain between 60% and 70% marks in their intermediate studies.

Non-technical branch students must complete their intermediate studies from any stream and obtain 50 to 60% marks.

Which Course After the 12th? 

Students can enroll in NDA– Naval Academy or can go for the degree program B.Tech. 

Artificer Apprentice & Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR): For this position, students can complete their 10th and 12th classes, and the PCM subjects should be required for eligibility. Applicants can get enrolled in any stream, and they need to clear the mandatory physical and medical tests.

Matric Recruit (Chef/ Steward/ Sanitary Hygienist): For Matric Recruit positions, students need to complete their 10+2 class from any stream where students need to obtain at least 50% marks. Students need to clear the Entrance tests like Physical and Medical after graduation from any stream; no fixed program is designed for these positions.

How do you join the Indian Navy after graduation?

There are different opportunities in which students can start their professional journey. Some examinations and direct recruitment are available for students who want to join the Navy.

Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE): This is an entrance examination to join the Indian Navy. This examination is required to complete their graduation degree from any stream. Also, students’ age criteria should be 19 to 25 years old. Also, the applicant should be unmarried.

The registration procedure starts in June and December. UPSC conducts this examination, which has two steps. First is the written test; after the written test, students need to go through the SSB Interview and Physical and Medical test. 

INET: Indian Navy Entrance Test – This entrance is available for the 121 vacancies, and students for this entrance are required to complete their graduation degree from BE/BTech. Students should obtain 60% marks in their graduation degree. Students can apply by checking the official website of the Indian Navy. The online written examination and Physical & medical tests are a must for the selection.

Special Naval Architects Entry Scheme (SNAES): Now, this is available only for the IIT students as the naval official team visits the IIT campus and undertakes campus placement; after examining the educational and physical criteria, the applicants are selected.

How do you join the Indian Navy after the 12th without an NDA?

If a student wants to join the Navy without an NDA, then a TES scheme is introduced for the Navy job, and also, by clearing this test, students can be called for the SSB Interview round of physical and medical. To appear in this test, students must complete their 10th and 12th classes from the science stream, and PCM should be compulsory.

The stream students should select science; otherwise, any other stream for the Technical Entrance Scheme Entrance student will not be eligible. Also, the applicant should be unmarried.

Indian Navy Opportunities for the Matric Pass

The Indian Navy organization is huge, and several vacancies are designed for lower- to top-level students. Matric recruits (chef/steward/sanitary hygienist) are some of the basic-level positions, and students who have completed their 10th class can opt for this recruitment post.

Students should meet the physical and medical criteria and clear the entrance, as there are no attempts announced, but until students don’t meet the eligibility criteria, they can apply; also, once the age criteria of 19 to 25 are crossed, they are not eligible.

  1. Online applications are invited from unmarried male and unmarried female candidates (who fulfill eligibility conditions as laid down by the Government of India) for enrolment as Agniveer (MR) for the 02/2024 (Nov 24) batch. The vacancies are 100 (including a maximum of 20 females only) and will be earmarked in India. The eligibility criteria and broad terms and conditions are laid down herein below.
  2. Educational Qualifications: Candidate must have passed the Matriculation Examination from the Boards of School Education recognized by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.
  3. Age: Candidate should be born between Nov 01, 2002 – Apr 30, 2006 (Both dates inclusive).
  4. Marital Status: Only unmarried Indian male and female candidates are eligible for enrolment as Agniveers in IN. Candidates must give a certificate of being ‘unmarried’ at enrolment. Agniveers shall not be permitted to marry during their four-year tenure in the IN. A candidate shall be dismissed from service if he/ she marries during his/her tenure or is found to be already married despite giving a certificate of being unmarried.

  • For efficiency, pre-fill details and upload documents in advance during the application submission window.
  • As per the Matriculation Certificate, keep relevant documents readily available to accurately fill personal particulars.
  • Mandatory fields like email address and mobile number must be filled during e-application.
  • Scan and upload all necessary documents, including original JPG/TIFF copies of marks sheets, date of birth proof, CGPA conversion formula, Merchant Navy certificate, NCC ‘C’ certificate, and a recent passport-size photograph.
  • Ensure scanned documents are legible and readable to avoid application rejection.
  • Take a printout of the submitted application for the SSB interview.
  • The submitted application is final, and no requests for amendments or changes will be entertained.
